Nutrition Services at Wasso Hospital

Wasso Hospital has a nutritionist called Ester Sheyo. She is the fist one to occupy this post which was created one year ago. She is cooperating with nurses in each department and the laboratory for all the tests (anemia, diabetes…). Concretely, she is working with every patient which needs nutrition management, mostly in the pediatric and labor ward because of malnutrition and anemia. Ester Sheyo is not given drugs, just advice about food. Children and pregnant women with severe anemia are included in the kitchen, they don’t have to worry about their food. The problem is for all the others that have to buy outside food. Ester Seyo is working on paper, because they don’t have a system for the nutrition department.
