Antenatal, Postnatal and Labour Ward
LABOR WARD
In the Labor Ward department, under the direction of Wilson Bange, almost twelve nurses are working 7/7. In this service, there are three different shifts of 8 hours so that the women can benefit from support at day and night. The nurses deal with prenatal and postnatal issues as well as taking care of the premature babies. They receive women at different stages of their pregnancy, support them while delivering and take care of the babies if the woman had delivered at home. On average, five women are admitted to this service every day. However, this number is higher on market day, as the women can benefit from a transport considering the income earned thanks to their sale. This service has a great capacity of beds. Indeed, 8 postnatal beds are available as well as one single room for emergencies. In addition, there are 40+ beds and showers for the women waiting to deliver and 2 delivery beds.
