Wasso Hospital provides comprehensive Reproductive and Child Health services for pregnant women, mothers and children from birth to five years of age.
The department is led by Furaha Seiyai, working together with a dedicated healthcare team to provide maternal and child health services throughout the working day.
Pregnant women receive personalised healthcare support, education about pregnancy, childbirth preparation, nutrition guidance and practical advice for maintaining a healthy pregnancy.
The department provides appropriate preventive medication, including support for the prevention of anaemia and malaria during pregnancy.
Children under five receive essential services including vaccination, growth monitoring, nutrition education, disease prevention and continuous health assessment.
Through Wasso Hospital's pharmacy services, eligible medicines and preventive treatments are provided according to applicable hospital and public health procedures. Patients can visit the department without requiring a prior appointment.
The department serves approximately 200 children each month. It continues to strengthen its response to childhood malnutrition and seeks additional staff, volunteers, digital systems and reliable health information tools to improve its impact.
