Modern Diagnostic Imaging for Better Patient Care
The Radiology Department is one of the key clinical departments supporting the daily diagnosis, treatment and management of patients at Wasso Hospital.
The department is led by Dr. Moses Peter Mandila, an Assistant Medical Officer with specialised radiology training. He joined Wasso Hospital in 2004 and served for five years at Digodigo Health Centre as Facility In-Charge between 2011 and 2015 before pursuing professional radiology training.
For many years, the department operated using an older Philips manual X-ray machine and ageing ultrasound equipment. Frequent breakdowns affected service availability, patient flow and the department's ability to provide timely diagnostic services.
We sincerely thank our benefactors, particularly Pro-Watschinger, for their continued support in maintaining the former equipment and enabling the department to acquire modern diagnostic machines.
The department is now equipped with a modern digital X-ray machine, advanced ultrasound equipment capable of performing echocardiography and small-parts imaging, together with a new ECG machine.
The digital X-ray machine supports a wide range of diagnostic procedures, including fluoroscopy studies, bone examinations and abdominal imaging. The resulting high-quality images help healthcare professionals establish accurate diagnoses and provide appropriate patient management.
